Biography
Hi! I'm a first year Master's student in Professor Willy Guenthner's Helium Analysis Laboratory (HAL). I'm originally from San Jose, California, but I obtained my BA in geology at Carleton College in Minnesota.
My current research utilizes low- and medium-temperature thermochronology to understand the deep-time cratonic evolution of Finland basement rocks and what we can learn about the development of the deep biosphere. However, my academic interests more broadly include thermochronology as a means to constrain both recent- and deep-time histories of erosion, burial, and uplift; the geodynamic variables that control these processes; cratonic evolution; continental development; orogenic belts; and high-temperature geochemistry.
I also have a soft spot for pedagogy, epistemology, and increasing the accessibility, diversity, and inclusivity of the geosciences.
I enjoy badminton, bouldering, CATS, black coffee, good dark chocolate, memes, reading Wikipedia, and doing puzzles without looking at the picture on the box.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions!! I love talking to people and tend to not bite.
